IAN’S PRIORITIES
FOR SEBASTOPOL
Sebastopol has faced numerous challenges over the last few years, from fiscal emergencies to changes in the provision of public safety and other essential city services.
Ian is concerned about the shortcomings of our city in meeting basic needs. He is committed to optimizing city services, and investing in what matters most: a safer, stronger, more resilient Sebastopol.
Below are 7 of Ian’s key priorities he hopes to focus on as a City Councilmember, including but not limited to:

Fiscal sustainability, and the importance of addressing structural budget deficits and expanding our city’s tax base to invest in essential city services

Traffic issues, and opportunities to expand adaptive signal control technology to allow traffic lights to adjust to traffic conditions in real-time

Climate change, and ways to continue reducing Sebastopol’s carbon footprint, expand EV charging infrastructure, and create a more sustainable future

Streets and sidewalks, and opportunities to invest in more repaving projects on main streets and in our neighborhoods

Water and sewer infrastructure, and funding needs to address aging water and sewer infrastructure without putting the cost burden solely on ratepayers

Housing affordability, and how to balance the need to create more housing while slowing growth and the congestion and community impacts posed by overdevelopment
07
Community collaboration, and ways to encourage partnerships with nonprofits and community groups to support programs like improvements at Ives Park
